Mabel’s Confections is a home-based bakery business operating under the Texas Cottage Food Law.
This food is made in a home kitchen and is not inspected by the Department of State Health Services or a local health department.
Meet Our Baker
Baking has been my therapy for several years. There’s just something about getting into the kitchen & creating a sweet treat that just brings joy to others.
I’m a retired educator of 20 years who has a passion for baking. I’ve been baking for most of my life but it started being serious when my kids were born. I started making their birthday cakes because I wanted them to have something special.
Preparing food for someone is a simple act of showing love and kindness. So this work is an act of service to others.
Our Namesake
Mabel (my grandmother) was the first person who inspired my love for baking and creativity.
She always had homemade cakes, cookies, or candy available in her kitchen. She made anyone who came into the home feel like family. That’s how we like to treat our customers – like family.
As long as you know how to bake, life is sure to be sweet.
